Airport under development to serve 5 million passengers per annum

GMR Goa International Airport Limited, India

GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Limited (GAL), is developing a Greenfield Airport at Mopa in North Goa. This Airport Project is based on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, which is based on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.

GGIAL would be developed in stages initially to service about 5 million passengers per annum and will be scaled up as per traffic growth demands. This Airport will be a full-service airport catering to domestic and international passenger besides freight services.

GGIAL expects the Airport to be in operation by Aug 2022 or earlier with a single runway to start with which is about 3.5 Km in length, initially Code E compliant with the following facilities:

3 Head -Landside Operations

  • Accountabilities Plan, strategize smooth traffic flow, infrastructure development, safety & cleanliness in the Airport Road network in close coordination with Stakeholders for efficient & safe passage to all interested parties, stakeholders, passengers using the Airport road network.
  • To strategize measures to improve the surface connectivity to Airport including upcoming ALD Area, and coordinate with concerned agencies.
  • To strategize & plan Forecourt Kerb side Management with a view to enhance passenger experience and convenience.
  • Strategize & Plan routes for VIPs and other dignitaries’ movement to Airport. Ensure proper parking arrangements at VIP Parking area, Ceremonial Lounge area and other Parking areas in coordination with TOPS/GR.
  • Develop SOP’s for smooth operations of Shuttle Bus Service and Inter Terminal Transfer Coaches, SLAs for Housekeeping. Ensure smooth operations at Public Transport Center & ensure Smooth entry & exit of vehicular movement to Loading Docks.
