The New Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-New Bhaupur project of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor stands as an engineering marvel, revolutionizing the logistics sector. It seamlessly connects the major coal belts of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) in Jharkhand & West Bengal to the powerhouses of Northern India.

Enhances reliability and speed of coal trains, reducing transit time by 30-40%.

Lowers inventory costs for powerhouses.

Provides improved freight access for steel plants in Jharkhand, West Bengal, & Odisha to consumption centers in Northern India.

Eases congestion on the existing Delhi-Howrah main line.

Increases capacity by 240 freight trains daily on the Eastern DFC, improving punctuality of Mail/Express and Passenger Trains, and facilitating additional coaching services to meet rising public demand.

Enables seamless and continuous operation of goods trains at a maximum speed of 100 kmph, raising the average speed of goods trains in the section to 60-70 kmph, a significant improvement over Indian Railways.

Enhances access of local industries to national and international markets, supporting the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Stimulates growth in Agri, Food processing, MSME, and handicraft industries in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Enhances safety by eliminating level crossings with Road Over Bridges (ROBs)/Road under Bridges (RUBs)/ Rail Fly Overs (RFOs).
