GMR invests in an Indonesian coal mine

Global coal price peaks again at 120 USD / tonne.

Acquires 30% stake in Indonesian coal mine PT Golden Energy for 550 m USD.

GMR wins bid for Mactan Cebu International Airport, Philippines

Wins bid for Mactan-Cebu airport.

Wins first leg of arbitration of Male airport for 1.4 b USD claim.

Sells 74% stake in Ulundurpet Expressway

2016

GMR wins Goa’s Greenfield Mopa Airport

Wins bid for Goa airport.

Tenega acquired 30% equity stake in Energy – 300 m USD.

2017

GMR wins Greenfield Heraklion Airport in Crete Island, Greece.

Emerges as the successful bidder to develop, operate and manage the new international airport at Greece.

2018

GMR Varalakshmi Foundation - Celebration of a 25 Year Journey!

GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), achieves a landmark by completing 25 years of service to the society through several sustainable developmental initiatives.

Tata Trusts Chairman, Shri. Ratan N Tata, the doyen of the Indian industry, noted entrepreneur and an eminent philanthropist, participated in a valedictory function to commemorate the silver jubilee of GMR Varalakshmi Foundation.

GMR wins bid for Vishakapatnam International Airport

In April, 2020 GMR received the Letter of Award for implementation of project on PPP basis.

The project involves design, build, finance, construction, development, operation and maintenance of Greenfield International Airport at Bhogapuram for the period of 40 years.

GMR signs pact to operate Karnataka’s Bidar Airport

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has signed the concession agreement to commission, operationalize and maintain the Civilian Enclave at the Bidar Airport in North Karnataka. The agreement is signed with the Government of Karnataka under the Government of India’s Regional Connectivity – UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme aims to support efforts for all-round development Bidar and nearby regions.

2021

GMR wins bid for Indonesia’s Kualanamu International Airport

GMR Airports Limited, a subsidiary of GMR Airports Limited wins the bid to develop, operate Kualanamu International Airport (Project) in Medan, Indonesia. It will be a 49:51 partnership with the state- owned enterprise, Angkasa Pura II (AP II). The consortium aims to transform Kualanamu International Airport into Western International hub of Indonesia.
