GMR Aero-led Delhi Airport Celebrates “Yatri Seva Diwas” with Passenger-Centric Festivities

New Delhi, September 17, 2025: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Aero, under the guidance of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), today observed “Yatri Seva Diwas” (Passenger Service Day) across its terminals amid much fanfare and enthusiasm. The celebrations aligned with the nationwide initiative to celebrate passengers and enhance their travel experience.

The observance, held on the 75th birthday of India’s Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, highlighted Delhi Airport’s commitment to making air travel more seamless, pleasant, and passenger-centric.

From traditional welcomes with a flower bouquet to vibrant cultural performances, the day brought a festive and engaging atmosphere for travellers. Passengers were also encouraged to share feedback, strengthening Delhi Airport’s ongoing efforts to continuously improve service quality.

Highlights of Yatri Seva Diwas at Delhi Airport:

  • Folk dances and live instrumental performances across terminals
  • Passenger engagement through painting and quiz competitions
  • A specially designed airport selfie booth to capture the day’s spirit
  • Surprise gift hampers for travellers
  • Artists creating live illustrations for passengers
  • Special evening performance by specially-abled singers

Adding grandeur to the event, Shri Samir Kumar Sinha, the Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, along with Shri Vipin Kumar, Chairman, Airports Authority of India, Ms. Rubina Ali, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, and Shri Shankesh Mehta, Director, MoCA, graced the celebrations at Terminal 1. They interacted with passengers and enquired about passenger-friendly amenities at Delhi Airport.

Yatri Sewa Diwas is a unique initiative that reflects the government’s vision of putting passengers at the heart of aviation services. Airports are not just gateways for travel, but also symbols of hospitality, efficiency, and inclusivity.
