DIAL Launches India’s First 360° Virtual Navigation Map for Transfer Passengers at Terminal 3

New Delhi, May 05, 2025: As Delhi Airport continues its journey toward becoming a global hub, GMR Airports Limited-led consortium Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has launched India’s first-ever 360° Virtual Navigation map at Terminal 3.

This groundbreaking innovation uses real images of the terminal to help passengers, especially transfer travelers, identify and relate to the airport environment for seamless and stress-free navigation at one of the busiest airports in the world. It will not only help passengers navigate the airport with ease and familiarity but also enhance their overall travel experience.

A Smart Solution for Transfer Passengers

The newly introduced 360-degree virtual map aims to ease the movement of domestic and international transfer passengers by guiding them effortlessly to critical points such as transfer desks, boarding gates, and baggage belts. This solution streamlines the transfer process, and significantly improves overall transit efficiency, making the process much more straightforward and less stressful.

“Delhi Airport is on the way to becoming a global hub and committed to making every passenger's journey as smooth and hassle-free as possible. The launch of our 360° Virtual Navigation Map marks a major step forward in enhancing the airport experience, especially for transfer passengers who need efficient and clear directions. This initiative is designed with the needs of every traveler in mind—from first-time flyers to those traveling with children or elderly family members,” said Mr. Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL.

Effortless Access via QR Code

Accessing the virtual navigation map is simple. Passengers only need to scan a QR code placed at strategic locations throughout the arrival concourse at Terminal 3. Upon scanning, the map opens instantly on their personal devices, offering an intuitive and interactive guide to help them navigate their way through the airport, with clear and step-by-step instructions.

Expansion Across Key Touchpoints

Following the initial success of the virtual navigation system, Delhi Airport is expanding its service to cover all boarding gates at departures and baggage belts at arrivals at Terminals 1 and 3. This expansion ensures that passengers, especially first-time flyers, aged, women travelling with children, family, etc. will have a smart, self-guided wayfinding tool at every key point of their journey, further enhancing convenience, reducing stress, and ensuring that travelers have a seamless experience from check-in to baggage claim.

Setting a New Standard in Passenger Experience

With the launch of this cutting-edge technology, Delhi Airport continues to position itself as a leader in passenger-centric innovation. The 360° Virtual Navigation Technology map not only simplifies airport navigation but also improves operational efficiency, setting a new standard for airport services worldwide, and redefining what passengers can expect from their airport experience.
