T2 of IGIA set to host partial operations of IndiGo and SpiceJet
- Free Shuttle service and DTC buses operational between T1 and T2

- 10 sectors of IndiGo and 7 sectors of SpiceJet to move from T1 to T2

NEW DELHI, March 23, 2018: The GMR led Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), today announced that it has made robust arrangements for a smooth transition of partial operations of IndiGo and SpiceJet from T1 to T2. An extensive signage exercise has been done at IGIA for helping passengers with directions and locations of their respective terminals. For passengers inadvertently reaching the wrong terminals, free shuttles with specially trained drivers have been introduced to and from T1 and T2. Extra manpower has also been deployed for guiding any wrongly landed passengers. Delhi Airport is actively disseminating information on Twitter using #ShiftingToT2. Further, additional tabs on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and directional map have been incorporated in the Delhi Airport’s website (www.newdelhiairport.in) to help passengers reach the right terminal.

Commenting on the development, I Prabhakara Rao, CEO-DIAL said, “In view of the robust passenger growth and upcoming airport expansion works, IndiGo and SpiceJet are moving partly to Terminal 2 and we welcome both the Airlines. This will enable us to start the expansion works at Terminal 1 that will be carried out over the next 3-4 years. We continuously strive to achieve passenger convenience and delight. We are confident that our extensive preparations will help the passengers as well as the entire IGIA community.”



IndiGo and SpiceJet are moving partially from T1 to the newly revamped T2 of IGI Airport with effect from 12.01 am on March 25, 2018. These include direct flights (flight nos. 6E 2000 to 6E 2999) to 10 sectors of IndiGo i.e. Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Raipur, Srinagar, Udaipur, Vadodara and Vishakhapatnam. The direct flights (flight nos. SG 8000 to SG 8999) of SpiceJet moving to T2 are Ahmedabad, Cochin, Goa, Gorakhpur, Patna, Pune and Surat.



With the partial shift of operations of the two airlines to T2, passenger area for the flyers will increase from current available passenger area of 25,917 sqm at T1 to combined 62,010 sqm.
