Delhi Airport wins twin accolades in Environment Sustainability
- Most Sustainable and Green Airport at the Wings India Award 2018
- Silver recognition by ACI Asia-Pacific Green Airports Recognition 2018

New Delhi, March 13, 2018:Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), a GMR led consortium today announced that it has been conferred with two accolades for their Environment related initiatives. Delhi Airport has won Wings India Award for ‘Most Sustainable and Green Airport’, held in Hyderabad between March 8-11, 2018. The award ceremony was part of Wings India 2018 organized by Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India and FICCI. Under ‘ACI Asia-Pacific Green Airports Recognition 2018’, Delhi Airport has won silver recognition for its sustainable waste management initiatives. The Green Airports Recognition Ceremony will be held in Japan on 24th April 2018.

Commenting on the win Mr. I Prabhakara Rao, CEO-DIAL said, “This is indeed a proud moment to be conferred with the ‘Most Sustainable and Green Airport’ at Wings India Awards and Silver recognition by ‘ACI Asia-Pacific Green Airports Recognition 2018’. In the same week, Delhi Airport has been declared as World’s No. 1 Airport in the highest category of more than 40 million passengers per annum by Airports Council International (ACI). Delhi Airport has undertaken various initiatives and programs for a sustainable and green airport. These include Carbon Neutrality, Green Building Program, Energy and Water Management, Renewable Energy Program, Effective Waste Management and Stakeholder Engagement.
