GMR's Mangalore Power plant uses environment friendly fuel and combined cycle gas turbine technology to achieve maximum thermal efficiency. For its compliance with internationally-benchmarked environmental standards, the plant received the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications from Det Norske Veritas. GMR Energy was commissioned in November 2001 and supplies power to the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited.
