PHD Chamber of Commerce Award for Outstanding Contribution to Social Welfare for GMRVF
GMRVF has been awarded the PHD Chamber of Commerce Award for Outstanding Contribution to Social Welfare for 2015. PHD Chamber Annual Awards for Excellence were instituted in 1997 to recognize Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements/contributions in selected areas and for promoting corporate and individual initiatives in economic, social, educational and cultural areas. The Award was received by Sri BVN Rao, Chairman - Transportation & Urban Infra through the hands of Sri Rajanath Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister for Home Affairs on 28th November 2015 in New Delhi.
Audi Ritz Icon Awards 2015
Mr. GM Rao, Group Chairman, GMR Group has been named – the Business Icon of the Year – and was awarded during the 7th edition of the Audi Ritz Icon Awards 2015 held at Bengaluru on December 19, 2015. December 2015 issue of Ritz has also featured billionaire infrastructure giant Mr Rao, who has been identified as one of the 100 richest men in India by Forbes.
Award to GMR Energy
GMR Energy was felicitated for its extensive contribution to power production and generation capacity in India, during the 2nd Annual Economic Times Power Focus Meet held on 9th January 2015 at Oberoi Hotel , New Delhi,. This Summit was themed around “24X7 Power Supply to all” and witnessed a participation of 100 + senior visionaries, policy makers and industry leaders.

Mr. G.B.S Raju, Chairman – Energy received the award on behalf of GMR Energy. The Award during this felicitation was be given by Shri Piyush Goyal, who is the Hon’ble Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy in the Government of India.

DIAL wins accolades from Golden Peacock National Quality Award
IGIA, Delhi has won the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock National Quality Award’ for 2015 for concerted efforts in building a culture of Total Quality across IGI Airport.

The Golden Peacock Awards were founded by the Institute of Directors, India in 1991 and they are globally regarded as a benchmark of Corporate Excellence. The National Quality Award Scheme was instituted to encourage Total Quality improvements in both manufacturing and service organizations in India. These awards are presented to organizations in different sectors adjudged to have made the most significant achievement in the field of Total Quality.
RGIA, Hyderabad airport ranked 3rd in 5-15 Million Passengers Per Annum category
RGIA has retained its position among the Top 3 airports in its category for the 6th consecutive year in the ASQ survey by ACI. While retaining its ranking, RGIA has been continuously raising its bar of service quality by improving on the ASQ Score from 4.44 in 2009 to 4.82 in 2014.

IGIA, Delhi adjudged World’s best airport in 25-40 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) category in the World, received the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award at a ceremony in Jordan on April 28th, 2015.
Environmental Award for GMR Energy
GMR Energy was recognized with “Environmental Protection and Energy Conservation Award – 2015” at “Think, Manage, Lead – the Energy Confluence” . The conference organized by M/s LLC on 24th April 2015 at Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi. The Award was presented by Mr. Luke D. DIAL BAGS CII – 5S Excellence Award
DIAL won the First Prize in the CII – 5S Excellence Awards - 2014 organized by Confederation of Indian industries (CII) – Northern region in the service sector. The event was organized at Chandigarh on 29th August 2014.
GCEL Bags Chhattisgarh Leadership Award
GCEL bagged the prestigious Chhattisgarh Leadership Award - 2014 under the ‘Excellent Infrastructure in Power’ category. The award has been instituted by Think Media Inc.

Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Honorable Minister for Agriculture, presented the award at a glittering ceremony at Hotel Babylon Inn, Raipur, on 24th August, 2014. The five member jury had a tough time deciding the winners. More than 50 companies from Chhattisgarh competed for the award.

IGIA Dons 2nd Best ACI ASQ Airport Award
IGI Airport has been honored with the 2nd Best Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award by ACI in 25-40 MPPA category for third consecutive year at a gala event in Seoul, South Korea on May 27, 2014.

DIAL clocked 4.84 on a scale of 5. This has been a remarkable journey to create a world class airport experience for the passengers – starting from 2007, when DIAL ranked at 101 out of 125 participating airports with a score of 3.01; Today, DIAL is featured as 5th best airport in the world amongst 235 participating airports across all categories in 2013.
RGIA bags ACI award !
RGIA has been honored with the ‘ACI Director General’s Roll of Excellence’ Award by the Airport Council International (ACI), in recognition of the airport being in the top 3 airports in the world for 5 consecutive years. RGIA has now become the only airport in India to have received this distinction!

ACI, the global body of airports, has also adjudged RGIA as the 2nd best airport in the world for 2013, in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category. The airport, while maintaining its position of last year, commendably improved its score to 4.80, from last year’s 4.71, indicating the airport’s serious approach in addressing passenger comfort and convenience issues during their transit through RGIA. RGIA has been consistently ranked as the best airport in 2009 & 2010, third best in 2011, and second best in 2012 & 2013.

GHIAL bagged ASSOCHAM CSR Excellence Award 2013-14 in recognition of the outstanding Corporate Social Responsible activities. GMRVF devotes its skills and resources in implementing projects in Education, Health, Hygiene & Sanitation, Empowerment and Livelihoods and community welfare.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has bagged yet another prestigious award, ‘FICCI CSR Award – 2012-13’, for its CSR initiatives by FICCI Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence. The award, under the Winner Category in Private Sector Companies, was conferred based on the assessment by Grant Thornton (GT) and Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).

GMR Varalakshmi Foundation was declared the winner of “The Best CSR Practices Award-2014” for undertaking exemplary livelihood activities among communities dwelling in the neighbourhood of the 1400 MW GKEL Power plant at Kamalanga, Dhenkanal District at Odisha.

Mr. Jayant Kumar Mohanty, Program Leader - GMRVF, received the award from Mr. Rajani Kant Singh, Honourable Minister of Steel & Mines, Government of Odisha, at a glittering ceremony as part of the Conclave on “Integrating CSR into strategic managerial processes,” organized by Think Media Inc., at Bhubaneswar on 17th January 2014. The award to GMRVF acknowledges GKEL’s transformational CSR interventions that have impacted livelihoods and the quality of life of people in nine villages in Dhenkanal District over the last six years.

“Best Cargo Airport Award” for RGIA
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been adjudged the “Best Cargo Airport of The Year” at the 40th Annual Convention of Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI), at Jaipur.

This is the second year in a row that RGIA has won the accolade for its Cargo operations and re-affirms RGIA’s commitment to the Industry and Trade community by providing them with best-in-class Infrastructure and Services.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has bagged the prestigious Center for Asia Pacific Aviation’s (CAPA) “Airport Marketing Award 2013”, for airports under 15 mppa across the world.

The award, regarded highly prestigious for strategic excellence in aviation, was presented recently to GHIAL at a ceremony held during the 10th Annual CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence, at Amsterdam.
GHIAL signed its first client for India’s first airport-based Free Trade Zone (FTZ) at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad. Ms. Turbo Jet Engines (Hyd) Pvt. Ltd. has signed an agreement with GHIAL. As per the agreement, Turbo Jet Engines in technical partnership with an established foreign partner, will set up repair, testing and calibration facilities for various aircraft components such as life rafts, wheels and brakes, oxygen cylinders, fire bottles, actuators, avionics equipment etc.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has added yet another jewel in the crown by becoming the first airport in India and the second in the Asia Pacific Region to receive Level3 Optimisation of Airport Carbon Accreditation. This is the second accreditation in a row for RGIA, after it was accredited Level 2- Reduction under Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme, last year.
The CNBC AWAAZ announced " Best Managed Airport " Award for IGIA. The award ceremony was held at Mumbai on 25th June 2013. IGIA received this award for third time in a row.
British Safety Council honours RGIA with 5 Star Rating on Health & Safety
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has been awarded the prestigious 5-Star rating by the British Safety Council for its Health & Safety Management System. The BSC 5-star rating is a very prestigious safety award globally and RGIA is the only Airport in the whole world to receive this coveted award.
GHIAL has won the prestigious “Best Management Award” from the Government of Andhra Pradesh at the State May Day Function held on 1st May, 2013, at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium, Hyderabad.

This is one the most venerated recognitions given by the State Government to select establishments/industries in the state. 15 companies were recognized in three categories – large, medium and small, for their outstanding contribution in the areas of industrial relation, productivity, social responsibility and women empowerment. GHIAL has been awarded under the Large Industry Category for maintaining a cordial relation with employees and also for its corporate social responsibility through various activities like vocational training and women empowerment.
Travel + Leisure – a leading luxury travel magazine for India and South Asia hosts the India’s Best awards in the travel category every year. For 2012, DIAL was the unanimous choice for the award in the best airport category while RGIA received the runner up honors. The ceremony was held on April 23, 2013 at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai and both the awards were received by Mr. Jitendra Jain– CFO– Corporate Finance on behalf of the respective teams.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA has added three new feathers to its cap at the SKYTRAX - World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Geneva. Hyderabad’s RGIA has been rated as the No. 1 Airport in India, 5th Best Regional Airport in Asia, and also as the 8th Best Airport in the 5-10 mppa capacity.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) added another feather to its cap by winning the 2013 Air Transport News (ATN) award for Airport of the Year under 10 Million Passengers, at the 2013 ATN Awards Ceremony held at the Hilton Bonaventure in Montreal, Canada.

The ATN Awards, in its second consecutive year, established a reputation as a major distinction for leading companies and personalities in the Air Transport Industry. RGIA was shortlisted as one of the finalists in the ‘Airport of the year under 10 million passengers’ category by votes from ATN readers, many of who hold Executive positions in the air transport industry, and was finally chosen by a highly experienced panel of juries.

Commendably, Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, operated and managed by GMR Hyderabad International Airport (P) Ltd., also has been adjudged as the 2nd best Airport in the world for the same year, in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category by ACI.
GMR legal team was awarded the Best Project Finance Team - 2012 at the Legal Era Awards Ceremony held on 23rd February 2013 at Hotel Taj, Mumbai. The Legal Era Awards aim to recognize the best professional team and individual excellence in the global legal arena. The event was widely attended by law firms, corporates, lawyers and judges.
GMR Group won the Award for Most Admired Infrastructure Company- Overall at 5th KPMG Infrastructure Today Awards.
The GMR Group has been conferred with “Best Talent Management Award” under the award category of ‘Organizations’ at the ‘Talent & HR Leadership Conference & Award’ event organized by ET Now and World HRD Congress. A total of 32 companies participated in this category which included PSU and Private Companies.
GMR legal team was awarded the Best Project Finance Team of the year 2012 Award at Legal Era Awards Ceremony, on 23rd February 2013, at Hotel Taj, Mumbai. The award was presented by Justice Deepak Verma who recently retired as Supreme Court Judge and Justice Parker, sitting judge of Bombay High Court.

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) won the First Prize (private category) and a rolling trophy for its colorful and picturesque landscaping all around the airport. The airport won the award for the third consecutive year at Horti Expo & Garden Festival 2013, conducted by Department of Horticulture, Government of A.P.

The award was handed over to RGIA officials by Dr. M. Jagan Mohan, I.A.S., Commissioner of Horticulture, in an official valedictory function organized on 30th January, 2013, at Peoples Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. The airport also won the First Prize for maintaining Best Traffic Islands (Rotaries) and Second Prize in the Residential Township category.

Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISGIA) was awarded the Best Airport Award & Best Friendly Flight Info Screen award during the “Voyager Travel Awards 2012" conducted by Turkey's first travel magazine, Voyager.

National Tourism Award for GHIAL
GHIAL has been awarded the prestigious “National Tourism Award 2010-’11” under the ‘Best Airport’ category. The airport has been adjudged as the best airport in India for actively promoting tourism, not only in Andhra Pradesh but also at the pan India level. The award was presented by her Excellency, the Honorable President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Singh Patil to Mr. Vikram R. Jaisinghani, CEO-GHIAL, at an award ceremony in New Delhi on 29th February, 2012.

GHIAL has been ranked the third best Airport in the world in the 5-15 MMPA category in Airport Service Quality by Airports Council International (ACI), the only global trade representative of airports for 2011. The airport has been ranked ahead of global contenders like Abu Dhabi, Adelaide, Geneva, Cape Town, Hamburg and London Luton Airports.

DIAL has been ranked 2nd best airport in the 25-40 MPPA category in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards given by the Airports Council International (ACI), the only global trade representative of airports for 2011. The airport is ranked 2nd in the world by ACI, up from 4th in 2010.
Award for Excellence in Air Cargo
DIAL bags award for Excellence in Air Cargo - The Indira Gandhi International Airport was awarded international recognition for excellence in Air Cargo at an event organized by Stat Trade Times. The award was presented at an Awards ceremony of the ‘Air Cargo India 2012’ event held at Mumbai from 1st – 3rd February, 2012. Mr. Pradeep Panicker and Mr. Sanjiv Edward received the award on behalf of DIAL.
Honorary Doctor of Letters Award
Mr. G M Rao has been conferred with Doctorate of Letters by York University, Toronto, Canada on June 9th in the Convocation that took place in Toronto. The citation read as follows:

He successfully pursues the triple bottom line, the equal importance of economic, social and environmental objectives for a business. And he dares all of us – and especially those graduating today – to move the world forward, to do so in a truly cooperative way, and to share our own good fortunate to help others.
Infrastructure Excellence Award
GMR Infrastructure Ltd has been selected as the winner of the Infrastructure Excellence Award 2011 in the Main Awards Category - ‘Airports’ for the project - ‘Construction of new integrated passenger terminal building T3, at IGI Airport, Delhi’.

The trophy will be presented by Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, Hon’ble Union Minister for Power, Government of India & Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Government of India, who have agreed to grace the occasion as Chief Guest & Guest of Honour respectively. Hyderabad & Delhi Airport Awarded!
On 8th April 2011 the Hyderabad Airport was awarded the first place for the second year in the 5-15 mppa category, and the award was presented by Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid, President, ACI Asia-Pacific and Managing Director, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad to Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi and Mr. Vikram Jaisinghani, CEO – GHIAL. Terminal 3 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) bagged a special ‘ACI Director General’s Recognition award’ at a gala awards ceremony of the Airports Council International (ACI). The award was presented by Ms. Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World to Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Chairman - Airport Sector. The award ceremony was the grand finale for 6th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference & Exhibition that is being held for the first time in India, at New Delhi from April 5 - 8, 2011.
RGIA wins National Tourism Award
GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) is proud to be the recipient of the prestigious National Tourism Award 2009-10, under the best airport category. The airport has been adjudged as the best airport in India for actively promoting tourism, not only at Andhra Pradesh but also at pan India level. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India presents National Tourism Awards to various segments of the travel and tourism industry every year, which includes, states/union territories, hotels, travel agents, tour operators, airports, etc., to recognize their performance with an aim to promote tourism. The award was accepted by Mr P S Nair, Chief Executive Officer-Corporate, Airport Sector & Mr Raveen Pinto-Head Aero Commercials & Route Development, GHIAL on 28th March 2011 at the award ceremony in New Delhi.
Terminal 3 – a Green Building
Terminal 3 has been awarded green building “LEED INDIA GOLD” rating from IGBC thereby making it one of the largest Green Buildings in the world. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) India rating system is licensed by US-GBC to the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) to encourage and facilitate the development of more sustainable buildings. Terminal 3 project was evaluated according to this system in the following categories;
  1. Sustainable sites
  2. Water efficiency
  3. Energy & Atmosphere
  4. Materials & Resources
  5. Indoor Environmental Quality, and
  6. Innovation & Design
The team worked on the documentation for a year before submitting to IGBC in June 2010. The IGBC team reviewed the documents and carried out a detailed inspection of T3 post commissioning. Out of the 45 credits submitted, 40 were achieved in getting the GOLD category. At a program held on 18 March 2011, CEO-DIAL felicitated the task force involved in achieving the LEED rating.
GVPGL wins another Award
GMR Vemagiri Power Generation Ltd. has won the “Innovative Environmental Project” award at the CII Environmental Best Practices Award 2011 organised by CII – Godrej Green Business Centre on 28 & 29 January 2011 at CII – Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, Hyderabad. It is another feather in its cap having won the National Energy Conservation Award-2010 by CEA.
Mr. P S Nair wins ‘Life Time Achievement Award’
Exim India in association with ASSOCHAM organized ‘The First Northern India Multimodal Logistics Awards’ on 18th January 2011 at The Lalit, New Delhi concurrent with Conquest 2011 an international Expo and Conference jointly with ASSOCHAM at New Delhi. Mr. P S Nair, CEO – DIAL was unanimously nominated by Dr. D.T. Jospeh, former Secretary Shipping for ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ from Aviation Sector. Dr. D.T. Jospeh presented the award to Mr. Nair, on behalf of Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia, MOS (Commerce).
GMR Group wins ‘Infrastructure Project of the Year 2010’ Award
GMR Group has been awarded with ‘The Best Infrastructure Project’ from all over India by Property World magazine. Mr. Jitendra Jain received the award on behalf of GMR Group at the award ceremony held at Hotel ITC Maratha, Mumbai on December 15, 2010. The awards have been constituted to celebrate the achievements of the real estate sector in India. Property World belongs to the United Business Media (UBM) Group, a $2.5-billion company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
GVPGL Vemagiri wins National Award
GVPGL won the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award given away by Union Minister of Power Mr. Shushil Kumar Shinde and State Minister Mr. Solanki at Delhi on 14th December. The award was given in recognition of the energy conservation measures by GVPGL. 42 power plants all across the country participated in the competition by BEE, of which 17 were shortlisted and GVPGL stood second. The companies were evaluated on the basis of 5 criterion, namely, overall energy saved, thermal energy saved, gas saving, overall fuel saving, and aux power consumption & Aux power saving. GVPGL scored better in gas saving by heat rate improvement and aux power by reducing aux power consumption.
GMR Group bags coveted ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award'
GMR Group has bagged the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ at the 6th edition of the CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards on December 11, 2010 at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. GCM received the award along with Dr. Raghunathan V and Ms. Meena Raghunathan from GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, at the hands of Union Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Muhkerjee. KPMG Infrastructure Today Awards
GMR Group bagged two awards at the 3rd KPMG-Infrastructure Today Awards 2010 ceremony held at the Taj Mansingh, Delhi on 1st December, ‘Most Admired Developer in Transport Sector’ – GIL and ‘PPP Project of the Year’ – Terminal 3, DIAL. Mr. Kiran Kumar Grandhi received both the awards on behalf of Group Chairman and the Group from Mr. Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Road, Transport and Highways. These Awards aim to acknowledge organizations, including government bodies which have developed, financed and implemented various infrastructure projects, through innovative, yet practical schemes, demonstrating overall excellence in the conceptualization, development and implementation of these projects.
The ‘Best Performing CFO’ Award
Mr. Subba Rao Amarthaluru has been awarded as the ‘Best Performing CFO’ in the Infrastructure Sector by CNBC TV 18. This is the 5th edition of India's most prestigious awards for the finest CFOs - the CNBC TV18 CFO Awards 2010. The Awards ceremony was held on October 27, 2010 at The Ballroom, Taj Lands End, Mumbai which was presided over by Mr. Salman Khurshid, Union Minister for Corporate Affairs.
Terminal-3 wins BCI Award
Delhi Airport’s newly integrated Terminal 3 bagged the British Construction Industry Award (BCIA) for the Best International Project at a gala award ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 14th October, 2010. The competition was tough with 180 international projects competing for the coveted and the most rigorously judged awards but the choice was unanimous. The event was witnessed by over 900 attendees.
GMR DIAL IT TEAM Wins an Award
GMR IT DIAL TEAM under the leadership of Mr Sivaram has been awarded by IBM management team the award for implementing the most innovative solution using IBM software “WEBSPHERE” at Terminal 3. The team went through a three hour interview by a select panel of IT experts outside IBM two weeks ago to understand the complexity of the implemented solution.

The award has been given to DIAL "For most innovative solution implemented in the Great Mind Challenge for business awards 2010" by IBM. The award was presented by Steve Wilkinson, VP IBM and Pradeep Nair, Director IBM Software Group.
INTEROP 2010 “Silver EDGE Award” to GMR Infrastructure
GMR group’s IT initiative “Deployment of seamless collaborative platform for UC, Intranet” has been recognized for Silver EDGE award by UBM (United Business Media-Information week). The EDGE (Enterprise Driving Growth and Excellence using IT) is an initiative platform created by UBM-Information week, which identifies and recognizes the companies who have demonstrated the best technology deployment in the country. Mr. Subbarao Hegde, AVP, Corporate IT received the award at an INTEROP 2010 world conference held at Mumbai on 29th September 2010.
GMR Wins the Prestigious CIO100 Award 2010
IDG India’s CIO magazine has awarded the CIO100 Award to GMR at the 5th annual CIO100 awards in Bangalore on September 4, 2010 at the ITC Royal Gardenia. The annual award program recognizes organizations that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT). This year's award theme was "The Agile 100," which recognizes IT leaders from leading Indian organizations for their exemplary IT initiatives that helped their organizations stay agile in the turbulent economy last year. The award was received by Mr. Johny Paramian, CIO.
ISGIA wins Best Airport Award
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport was selected as the Best Airport at the World Low Cost Airlines Awards on 29th September in London. The award was given post nomination and voting by 38 international airlines including Vueling, Flydubai, Air Arabia, Jordan Aviation, Air Cario, Jet to Be,, Transavia, German Wings, Germania, Spanair, Air Asia, Pearl Wings and Easy Jet based on a set of criteria which required airports to have best infrastructure, to be operationally efficient, to support the airlines on management level, and to market with the airlines for commercial efficiency.
Air passengers association of India selected GMR Hyderabad International Airport as the “Best Greenfield Airport" for the year 2009. Mr. P Sripathy, CEO GHIAL received the award at a ceremony held at Chennai on 18th September.

PEI Asia Infrastructure Developer Award
GMR Group recently won the prestigious Asian infrastructure developer of the year award in the Infrastructure Investor Annual Awards 2009.

INFOCOM CMAI National Telecom Awards 2010
Group Chairman Mr. G. M. Rao has been awarded for Leadership in Indian Infrastructure by CMAI Business World INFOCOM National Telecom Award 2010 with Bloomberg UTV on 20th May, 2010 at New Delhi.

Sabiha Gokcen Airport Accolades
Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen International Airport, has won the “Most Successful Tourism Investment Award”.

The award ceremony held to announce the results of a survey titled “Turkey’s Most Successful Tourism Investments 2010” jointly conducted by Eurobank Tekfen and Financial Magazines Capital and Economist. The final results were announced after a thorough deliberation by a large jury comprising representatives of tourism business organizations, academics, investment experts, journalists and representatives from various sectors.

The Hyderabad Airport has been adjudged the ‘Favourite Indian Airport’ at the Condé Nast Traveller India Awards. The award was introduced by British Condé Nast Traveller magazine, in association with and to celebrate the launch of Condé Nast Traveller in India in October 2010. The awards were given based on a survey conducted among their readers in UK, who voted for the relevant categories to choose the best in Indian Tourism. Mr. Vikram Jaisinghani, Deputy CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport received this prestigious Award at a glittering ceremony held in Mumbai on April 28, 2010.
DIAL’s & RGIA’s Best Airports in the World ranking by ACI:
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) has been ranked 4th best airport in the world at the Airport Council International’s (ACI) Annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. It received this prestigious rating for airports in the 15 -25 million passenger traffic per annum category in ACI’s announcement on 16th February, 2010. IGIA has also been declared the winner of the ‘Best Improved Airport’ award in the Asia Pacific Region by ACI.

ACI is world renowned body of global airports. The ASQ awards rank top performing airports in the annual ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger survey.

The GMR Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) was also adjudged as the best airport in the 5 to 15 million passenger capacity airports in the world. Further, RGIA secured the fifth position amongst all airports, both worldwide and in the Asia-Pacific region. This unique achievement comes within less than two years of the green field airport having commenced operations.
Doctorate from Andhra Pradesh University
Mr. G M Rao received an honorary doctorate (Doctor of Letters) from Shri N.D. Tiwari, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Chancellor of the Andhra Pradesh University at the 76th Convocation on 5th December, 2009.

GMR Group received the TERI Corporate Award 2009 for its CSR initiatives in New Delhi on June 4, 2009 from the President of India - Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil for the GMR Group’s outstanding efforts in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility.

GMR Infrastructure Limited has received the ‘Infrastructure Excellence’ award from CNBC TV 18 on 25th March, 2009. It received the award for developing the Greenfield Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad, to world class standards.
SATTE Award to Kiran Kumar Grandhi
Kiran Kumar Grandhi, Chairman - GMR Airports and MD - DIAL received SATTE's - ' Young Entrepreneur Award 2009' in the area of Travel and Tourism.

The award is given to recognize the exemplary initiatives and efforts representing the entire value chain of travel and tourism business. Since 1994, SATTE have evolved and grown into a generic tourism and travel show for the entire South Asian region.
Infrastructure Acquisition of the Year Award
GMR emerged victorious at the annual Infrastructure Journal Award Ceremony held in London on the evening of Thursday, 12th March, 09.

GMR won the Infrastructure Acquisition of the Year Award for its US$1.1bn acquisition of a 50% stake in InterGen N.V., a leading global power generation company, with 12 operating power plants located across five countries.

Group Chairman was also selected by popular vote to receive the Infrastructure Person (Infra Person) of the year award.

GMR Group has been selected to receive the award under the “Most Admired Company (Transport Developer)” category at the KPMG - Infrastructure Today Awards 2008.
2008 IAHV Ethics in Business Award

(The plant has India’s first and only sophisticated sewage treatment unit, treating 7200 cubic meters of sewage per day to produce 4200 cubic meters of fresh water for plant usage.)
