The Roads team has won the bid for the four-laning of the 35-km Ambala-Chandigarh road project on a toll basis for a concession period of two decades. The project marks the entry of the Group into Northern India in construction and development of roads.

GMR Group achieved the financial closure for Ambala-Chandigarh road project on 11 May, 2006 .
