GMR Orissa Power Project
Energy Gmr Kamalanga Energy Limited

GMR Kamalanga Energy Limited (“Kamalanga Power Project”) is developing 1400 MW (4*350 MW) coal based thermal power project at Kamalanga, in Dhenkanal district of Odisha. Phase 1 of project (3*350 MW) got commissioned in stages with the last unit being commissioned in FY 14. The BTG-EPC contract has been awarded to SEPCO-China. The plant has been awarded Mega Power Status by Ministry Of Power. Unit 1 of the Project has already been commissioned on April’13 Unit 2 in Nov’13 and Unit 3 in Mar’ 14 .

The Company has 84.86% stake, with IIF & IDFC holding the balance stake. It has fuel linkage with MCL for 500 MW of capacity and also has tapering linkage for 550 MW with MCL and ECL. The company has Power purchase agreement signed with GRIDCO (Odisha) and DHBVNL& UHBVNL (Haryana) as well as Bihar State Electricity Board.

The Company has 81.44% stake, with IIF & IDFC holding the balance stake. It has fuel linkage with MCL Coal Fields for 500 MW of capacity and also has tapering linkage for 550 MW. The balance coal requirement will be met from Rampia Coal Mines, Odisha, which has been allocated for joint development to 6 companies including GMR., but de-allocation letter has been issued and a stay has been granted by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi. The company has Power purchase agreement signed with GRIDCO (Odisha) and DHBVNL& UHBVNL (Haryana) as well as Bihar State Electricity Board.
