GMR Energy is developing the 180 MW Bajoli Holi project in Himachal Pradesh. The Run of the River’ project is located on the River Ravi in the Chamba District of the state.
The project has been awarded to GMR Energy on ‘Build-Own-Operate-Transfer’ (BOOT) basis for a period of forty years from the commencement of commercial operations. In this duration, GMR Energy will provide a portion of the generated power to the state of Himachal Pradesh on a no cost basis.
The project will supply power to the Northern Region of the country, which has recorded high demand growth but faces a huge power deficit.
The plant is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2016.
