GMR Energy Limited is developing 300 MW Alaknanda Hydro Electric Power Project in Uttarakhand. The Project was awarded on competitive bidding basis.

This is the Group's first venture into the Hydro Power sector and also marks its strategic entry into North India. The Project Development Agreement was signed with the Govt. of Uttarakhand on October 22, 2005.

Project Features:

• The project has been awarded for a period of 45 years and is extendable for another 20 years.
• Project has Free Power Royalty of 12% of the energy generated to the State of Uttarakhand for the PPA term.
• The project has potential of 1199 MUs. Energy generation which works out PLF of 45.62%.
• The project is expected to achieve commercial operation by Jan-2019.
