GMR EMCO Energy Ltd. is developing a 600 MW coal based power plant, in Warora, Maharashtra. The acquisition has helped the Group to establish a firm foothold in the Western region of the country. With this, the Group enjoys a pan-India presence spanning the Northern, Southern, Eastern and North Eastern parts of the country.

The project is expected to be commissioned by the end of the 11th Five Year Plan. The project is also ideally located in terms of the transportation infrastructure and enjoys good rail, road and air connectivity. It is also close to critical infrastructure such as housing, education, and medical facilities
